EMIRATES AND SRILANKAN HAVE ESTABLISHED A RECIPROCAL INTERLINE PARTNERSHIP.

1. Thirty routes operated by both airlines are encompassed by the partnership.

2. Two new points in India and Gan Island in the Maldives can be reached by Emirates customers via Colombo with seamless connectivity and baggage transfers.

3. Emirates customers can be traveled with by SriLankan on 15 routes across the Middle East, US, and more with smooth connections in Dubai.

A reciprocal interline agreement was announced yesterday by Emirates and SriLankan Airlines to enhance connectivity for passengers of both airlines.

Access to new points on each other’s networks via Colombo and Dubai will be enabled by the partnership, with a single ticket and the convenience of baggage transfers being provided.

Tickets are now available for travel, effective immediately, as the interline partnership unlocks 15 regional destinations operated by SriLankan Airlines via Colombo, from which Emirates’ passengers can choose. The interline network includes two new Indian destinations, Madurai and Tiruchirapally, as well as Gan Island in the Maldives, allowing customers to travel seamlessly on a single ticket while enjoying the convenience of a generous baggage policy and hassle-free baggage check-through to the final destination. Far East and South Asian destinations also encompass Cochin, Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Malé, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Jakarta, Guangzhou, Seoul, and Tokyo.

Access to Emirates’ global network and the opportunity to connect to 15 cities operated by Emirates beyond Dubai will also benefit SriLankan Airlines’ passengers. Points across the Middle East, Africa, Russia, and the US are included in the interline network. SriLankan’s customers will enjoy a premium travel experience and partnership benefits while flying on Emirates to Bahrain, Amman, Dammam, Medina, Cairo, Muscat, Nairobi, Moscow, Tel Aviv, and a host of US cities, including New York JFK, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, Boston, and Houston.

The activation of an interline partnership with SriLankan and the provision of more choice and access to additional destinations for customers were expressed with pleasure by Emirates’ Chief Commercial Officer, Adnan Kazim. He also conveyed the anticipation of further developing cooperation in the near future and enhancing benefits for customers traveling with Emirates and SriLankan on one ticket.

SriLankan Airlines’ Chief Executive Officer, Richard Nuttall, announced the renewed interline collaboration with Emirates and expressed commitment to providing connectivity to Sri Lanka from around the world. He noted that the partnership with Emirates, a truly global airline with a long history in Sri Lanka, would provide more options to connect to and from Sri Lanka, benefiting both Sri Lankan passengers at home and abroad, and supporting tourism growth to the Pearl of the Indian Ocean.

Emirates launched its services to Sri Lanka in 1986 and has since carried more than 11 million passengers to and from Colombo, making Sri Lanka an important part of the Emirates network spanning almost 140 destinations. The airline currently operates two daily direct flights to Colombo, utilizing the Boeing 777-300ER, and an additional daily service via Malé, giving customers the flexibility to choose flights and enjoy the convenience of minimal connection times. Emirates is the only international carrier to serve the country with first-class services, offering passengers world-class products and superior comfort in the air and on the ground.
